Open to children from 5 to 7 years of age, this choir offers an informal approach to group singing. We get a lot of inquiries about singing lessons for this age group. But a one-on-one 45 minute to 60 minute singing lesson is often a little overwhelming for students at this age. Our choir is a great solution for these young singers!
The Treble Makers will learn important skills covered in singing lessons such as breathing techniques, warm-ups and performance skills, but in a fun, group environment. Plus the children will gain important ensemble skills learning about teamwork and getting to know their peers based on a common interest. Students can also expect to gain ear training skills, learn to blend with other voices and perform at our bi-annual recitals. Repertoire includes children’s songs, legit and popular music.
Choir practice for the Treble Makers is held weekly on Fridays from 5:15 to 6:15pm. The Spring session will run from January 15th to June 17th (or 24th) which includes 21 practices. There will not be practice on March 18th and 25th due to March Break and Good Friday. The June recital performance will likely be held on the weekend of June 18th/19th.
Spring session choir fee is a total of $378 ($18 per practice). The choir fee includes practice sessions as well as learning tools such as lyrics and recordings for at home practice. While it is preferable for students to attend choir practices from the beginning, fees will be pro-rated for students joining the choir after the start date of the session.
